Family-centred interventions by primary healthcare services for Indigenous early childhood wellbeing in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States: A systematic scoping review

2017

McCalman, J., Heyeres, M., Campbell, S., Bainbridge, R., Chamberlain, C., Strobel, N., & Ruben, A.

Description

In this article, the authors conducted a scoping review that assesses the quality of the evidence and identifies published literature on family-centred interventions that support Indigenous early childhood well-being. The review includes both grey and academic literature sources published from 2000 to 2015, and concludes that while the evidence for such interventions is in the early stages of development, some promising interventions have been implemented, as shown by diverse positive health outcomes and greater satisfaction with and use of health care and community/cultural revitalization.
