This special issue of the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada aims to provide health care professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to provide culturally safe care to First Nations, Inuit and Métis women. It consists of 10 chapters on topics related to: definitions, demographics, social determinants of health, health systems, policies and services, sexual and reproductive health, maternal health, mature women’s health, changing outcomes through culturally competent care, and case studies.
