The authors argue for the need for governments, researchers, and other organizations to collaborate with Indigenous Peoples "on their own terms" to improve access to and use of public health data in responses to COVID-19. This argument is situated within the context of harmful systemic policies and data collection efforts in the past, which have led to limitations in the quality, quantity, access, and use of Indigenous Peoples' data.
