Indigenous clients intersecting with mainstream nursing: A reflection

2017

Trueman, S.

Description

The author presents two instances of mental health care for Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, one which was culturally inappropriate and/or inadequate and the other where the care provider engaged with the client and acted with cultural safety. He then reflects on his personal journey of discovery towards being a culturally safe and more sensitive nurse.
