Interrupted childhoods: Over-representation of Indigenous and Black children in Ontario child welfare

2018

Ontario Human Rights Commission

Description

In 2016, the Ontario Human Rights Commission launched a public interest inquiry into the involvement of Indigenous and racialized children and youth in the child welfare system with the goal of determining whether they were over-represented in children's aid societies (CASs). This report discusses the results of this analysis and makes recommendations for CASs, government and other parties.
