BC Aboriginal Child Care Society
In 2003, delegates and key stakeholders met to articulate a vision for the health of Indigenous children and the future well-being of Indigenous communities in BC. This report presents a summary of the keynote addresses and breakout sessions at that event. It identifies the major areas of concern within the current early childhood development (ECD) system, a set of guiding principles for working towards a new early model of ECD, goals and objectives for improving ECD, and recommendations for service providers, community leaders, and governments moving forward.
