Description

This authors review and synthesize literature on Indigenous women in Canada who are pregnant or early in the parenting stages and use substances. Key themes of the review include: cyclical repercussions of state removal of children from their families; compounding barriers and inequities; prevalence and use of different types of substances; and intervention strategies. The authors conclude by offering recommendations for future research.
