Description

This article documents the experiences of First Nations women from northern Alberta communities with pregnancy care, the movement out of the community for childbirth, and the impacts of these experiences on well-being. The authors highlight the urgent need to implement a culturally integrated healthcare model in Indigenous communities to close the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous maternal and infant health status in Canada.
