In this article, the authors explore the perspectives of dental students on the barriers and supports to becoming more competent in Indigenous culture. Findings from the study suggest that dental and oral health students require an informed history of Indigenous Australians, engagement with Indigenous communities, and reflection on these experiences in order to become more culturally competent.
