This article presents findings from a qualitative research study that aimed to identify the factors that can impact the effectiveness of evidence-based SMS messages designed to reduce health inequities in the management of hypertension in low-resource settings such as Indigenous communities. The authors also examine the interrelationship of these factors with the three essential conditions of behavioral change and cultural safety.
