Cancer Care Ontario
This strategy provides a road map for improving the performance of the cancer system for and well-being of Indigenous Peoples in Ontario by reducing the burden of cancer in these communities and empowering supportive and healthy environments that build on the strengths of Indigenous individuals, families, communities and organizations. The strategy includes a number of key objectives and actions, including supporting timely and culturally safe palliative and end-of-life care, supporting and increasing culturally safe education and programming, providing culturally safe care, building and promoting relationships with Indigenous partners based on trust and mutual respect, improving coordination and integration of screening services, among others.
