The authors tested mercury levels in Porcupine Caribou muscle, kidney, and liver samples and compared this data with consumption data from Vuntut Gwitchin adults to determine dietary exposure to mercury. The study revealed that caribou tissues contributed high levels of important dietary nutritints but posed minimal health risks from mercury exposure.
