The authors assessed prenatal exposure to methylmercury on the development of the central nervous system among Inuit children from the community of Qaanaaq, Greenland. Exposure to methylmercury was based on mercury concentrations in cord blood and maternal hair, examined in connection with all births, while 43 children underwent a battery of neurobehavioral tests and neuropsychological tests to identify possible deficits.
