Description

The authors conducted a review of peer and grey literature that claims to integrate both Indigenous and Western ways of knowing in ecotoxicology and wildlife health in Canada. They examine the nature of research collaborations between Indigenous knowledge holders and non-Indigenous academics, the topics investigated, and how Indigenous knowledge was collected. The authors then conducted a more in-depth examination of two exemplar cases of collaborative research with Indigenous communities that use a decolonizing lens to identify practices that can better address critical wildlife health concerns and meaningfully advance healing and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.
