Description

The authors conducted an analysis of a large evaluation data set related to diagnosing hypertension and lowering blood pressure in Indigenous people to identify wise practices for culturally safe, collaborative eHealth and randomized controlled trials research with Indigenous peoples. Key themes that reflect culturally safe approaches to research included: building and maintaining respectful relationships, good communication and support for local teams during RCTs, commitment to co-designing the innovation, supporting task shifting with the local team, and reflecting on past mistakes and lessons learned.
