Family connections: A resource booklet about building strength in families based on Inunnguiniq teachings

February 2026

Family connections: A resource booklet about building strength in families based on Inunnguiniq teachings gives guidance to Inuit parents on how to build a strong family and support a healthy future for your children. It is grounded in the cultural teachings and experiences of Inuit Elders and in the practices of inunnguiniq – making a capable human being.

In 2021 the National Collaborating Centre for Indigenous Health (NCCIH) worked in partnership with the Aqqiumavvik Society to develop this booklet, as well as three other booklets in the series.

In 2025 the NCCIH collaborated with the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS) to develop the booklets in two additional dialects.

The booklets are available for download in:

The booklets are also as available for hard copy order from the NCCIH at no charge.
