Description

This article describes and compares birth outcomes among First Nations, Inuit, Métis and non-Indigenous populations over the period 2004 to 2006, including on measures of preterm birth, small-for-gestational-age birth, large-for-gestational-age birth, stillbirth, and infant mortality. The study found that adverse birth outcomes occurred more frequently among First Nations, Inuit and Métis women compared to non-Indigenous women.
