The authors evaluated the preliminary impact of the Canadian "non-toxic" shotshell policy for hunting migratory game birds by examining the blood-lead levels of First Nations people living in northern Ontario. They found that despite the ban on using lead shotshell, First Nations in this region had surprisingly high blood-lead levels, indicating they were likely still using lead shotshell.
