Description

The Métis Nation of Ontario sought to understand the reasons behind why some Métis citizens chose not to be vaccinated against COVID-19. They conducted semi-structured interviews online with a small sample of Métis individuals who chose not to receive the vaccine to gauge their perspectives on vaccination, reasons for not receiving the vaccine, and adherence to public health measures. Their responses indicating that colonialism was a key driver in their decision not to be vaccinated have implications for future pandemic response.
