Description

This cross-sectional study investigated the association between pregnant women's levels of heavy and essential metals and birth outcomes of newborn children among Inuit living in Greenland. The study found higher levels of cadmium, chromium, and nickel in the pregnant women compared to reported normal ranges, but there were significant regional differences across Greenland. It also found that cadmium and copper were significantly inversely related to birth outcomes.
