Description

This article reports findings from a 2003 international study exploring the views of Indigenous peoples in isolated communities in five countries on their environment and health. Specifically, the article examines the traditional knowledges and beliefs that underpin their concepts of health and well-being, and their relationship to the land and the environment, as well as the relationship of traditional knowledge and practices to Western medicine and services.
