This chapter aims to address gaps in the literature on the relationships between colonization and the geographies of Indigenous children and youth, within the context of rural and northern British Columbia. It examines how geographies of coloniality have worked to deprive Indigenous children and youth of power and privilege. This chapter also examines the colonial apparatuses that pay specific attention to Indigenous children and youth and describe how children and youth who are marginalized resist oppressive powers of coloniality. The chapter concludes with a discussion of the role that place and space play in the resurgence of Indigenous children and youth within geographies of coloniality.
