This resource is one of a series of six Healthy Aging booklets for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis adults (aged 18 to 49 years) and older adults (aged 50+ years) in Canada. It was developed in response to requests from Indigenous families and community partners for culturally relevant resources to support the health and well-being of First Nations people, Inuit, and Métis people throughout the aging process.
This booklet focuses on certain life stages and health conditions that can affect your physical vitality, mental clarity, emotional resilience, and overall quality of life, including heart disease, stroke, prostate cancer, menopause, and the multiple, often overlapping forms of older adult abuse.
