This resource is one of a series of six Healthy Aging booklets for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis adults (aged 18 to 49 years) and older adults (aged 50+ years) in Canada. It was developed in response to requests from Indigenous families and community partners for culturally relevant resources to support the health and well-being of First Nations people, Inuit, and Métis people throughout the aging process.
This booklet discusses how preventative health behaviours can improve your overall health and quality of life. This includes getting proper sleep, practicing good oral health habits, and having regular medical check-ups. It also involves understanding the importance of keeping your feet healthy, protecting your eyes and ears, and keeping a healthy home environment.
